Hi Jean, welcome to the CoC. Yes, you did spot a Japanese embroidery frame. I used it for the Goldwork master class and have used it for things other than Japanese embroidery. I may use one of them for some CoC panels but I have purchased a slate frame from the RSN which I plan to put most of the panels on. I am currently working on Phase VIII but it has been 'resting' for several months while I concentrate on other things :-) Too many things on the go as usual :-) Which piece are you stitching?
Welcome to the CoC, Jean! I'm one of the 'printers'...I have all the lessons and the pictures in plastic sleeves in notebooks. It has taken a lot of ink and paper, but I find the images much easier to access this way, and I like being able to take the pages out for' contrast and compare'...I have not added up all the lesson pages, but I'm now on the 14th one inch notebook...
Hello Jean, thank you for your message. It took me five years to complete the embroidery on that box! I am enjoying the experience of learning a lot more about boxes/cabinets from the lessons that Tricia has produced. I am working on the little projects at the moment, and I don't expect to start on the large cabinet for some time, life seems to get in the way! I hope that you enjoy the class as much as I have. All the best to you, Isabel
Many of us don't print out the lessons but we do combine the individual pdf files into few documents to make reading easier. I transfer the lesson documents to my iPad but I am lucky enough to have an iMac with a huge screen so I can have the text and the photos open side by side, so prefer that.
Hi Jean, welcome to class. In reply to your question about printing out the class lessons - I print out: 1) all the kit project instructions and photos that go with the instuctions; 2) all of the motifs; 3) all of the lesson narration and some of the photos; 4) I rarely print anything from the website links but will copy photos onto my computer and I save the links to my computer. I see from your friend request that you live in Oregon. I lived in Eugene and Salem many years ago. Beautiful state!
Hi Jean, The RSN is great course, but it is not taught in Australia. I have studied in the USA (San Francisco) and in England. I would recommend it if you want to move your stitching up to a professional level. Kind regards, Victoria
Hi Jean, Welcome to the class. I have used the needleneeds frames and I love them. I am not sure if I will use them for the casket or not. I have never used a slate frame so I cannot compare the 2. They do keep the fabric tight. I love using them with the necessaire floor stand.
