Cheryl, I wish there was a way for me to meet up with the Australian stitchers. I have NO one anywhere near me interested in any kind of stitching. But, I live in Indonesia and will be here for at least another year, maybe even two more years.
I do have concerns about the project and what I will put on my casket design wise. But, I'm gonna give it my all as this is something I have wanted to do almost from the beginning of me learning how to stitch.
Thanks Cheryl, yes it would be great if we can all get together - always helps to brainstorm and share in person!
My head is buzzing with ideas, I am currently working on a mirror frame in the traditional style (but with symbolism that reflects my English heritage) so may follow a similar theme but use my husband's Dutch background. Heaps of fun and so excited about being part of this.
I feel I know your name from somewhere at work - whereabouts in SLNSW did you work? I've been with SLT for 30+ years - lending, reference and now aquisitions. Were you ever involved with AskNow or family history? For some years I worked with Carol Graham in our Family history area and she often spoke of NSW colleagues. Or have I simply seen your name on staff lists?
Lucky you being retired - 3 more years for me - it can't come soon enough at times like this - I'm busy with the end of year spend-down. Still, I'm part-time and now the kids are no longer at school I do have time for me - time mainly spent stitching and gardening.
I'm really looking forward to everything involved with this.

A group is starting the casket in Sydney at Mosman Needlecraft on a Saturday. You are most welcome to come.

Hi Cheryl
Lovely to meet you here - hopefully it can be in person some time during this odyssey, too.
Good weather to be stitching in the air-conditioning...
