I've been so inspired by other people's cabinets in progress that I thought I share a few of my photos as well. Constructive feedback is ALWAYS appreciated. A few notes of explanation are in order: First, I tea-dyed the orginal linen ground fabric that Tricia sent because I thought I wanted a more rustic look. Upon further reflection and looking at museum cabinets with my newly-educated eyes, I decided to switch to silk satin (super finicky to stitch on, but worth it I think). To make the transition, I had to cover the linen with silk ovale satin stitch. My color/pattern shoice was inspired by one of the cabinets on exhibit at the Met. I've also taken a LOT of creative liberties with materials and stitches to incorporate more goldwork techniques because that was one of my learning goals for this project. With that, here I am, 10 months in on the Four Season Cabinet, and have been loving (almost) every minute of the process.
